D'OEUVRES :
Hors d'oeuvre literally
means "apart from the [main] work" or the first course & are small Tit-Bits which are spicy & tangy in
nature & meant to stimulate the appetite hence also called as APPETIZERS.
Hors d’ oeuvres are the First Course of THE
FRENCH CLASSICAL MENU hence also called as
STARTERS.

ReplyDeleteIt's Jus de tomate mentioned here in hors d' oeuvre which stands for or means tomato juice ... it's not tomato soup.. you interpreted it wrong, I guess. Hope your query is satisfied.
